Making the right food choices is an essential part of your plan. If you wish to be slim and feel great, opt for products that are high in protein and complex carbs. Fitness gurus recommend all people should watch what they eat after they get back home from the gym.
Here is a list of products that are bad for you if consumed after exercise:
1. Raw vegetables
We cannot deny the importance of vegetables in everybody’s healthy diet. All of them are beneficial because they are full of vitamins and minerals. They can be eaten in a variety of ways. Most veggies can be consumed raw. Sometimes you can bake, stew or grill them. They taste great with fish and meat. In the morning you can make delicious smoothies with your favorite vegetables. Even vegetable juices are great. The only rule to remember is not to eat raw vegetables after the gym. We suggest you should cook them first and then combine them with other foods. No need to eat something heavy. Try your cooked vegetables with low-fat yogurt or cottage cheese.
2. Crisps
These snacks are not good for athletes. Nuts as well as crisps are full of salt. During your workout you sweat a lot and you lose salt from your body. However, if you try to restore the level of sodium in your body by consuming salty foods, then you will reduce the level of potassium. Without enough potassium you won’t be able to recover after the gym. Exercise takes lots of potassium from your body and you need to boost the amount of this element back. So refrain from snacking on salty crisps and nuts after training.
