If you are going abroad for a week or two, then you are either a tourist and traveller or a business person going on a business trip. If you are leaving your native land for good, then you’ll have to settle quite a few important things before you move.
Prepare well so that you could avoid unwanted stress. If the following details are not settled, then you are not yet ready to live overseas.
1. Voting
Whether you are interested in politics or not, this may be one of the reasons for moving abroad. Even after you leave your own country you won’t stay indifferent to its political climate. You can change your country’s future while living elsewhere – you still have the right to take part in the elections and vote. Your opinion matters since you are your country’s citizen and this is the place where you were born and brought up. Remember to use your absentee ballot and vote for your favorite candidate. Those you trust and vote for will later change the future of your relatives and friends back home.
2. Keep in Touch and Send Messages
Remember to mail when you live abroad. Most of the things you need on a daily or weekly basis can nowadays be performed online. You can pay your bills and taxes, make money transfers and so on. There are people who live abroad but maintain an address in their native land. It is convenient and practical – that’s how they maintain accounts with various financial organizations and linger mail. You can also ask for your papers to be forwarded overseas. If not, then use your family member’s address in case you need urgent help.
