5. Let’s say you’ve finally met. The first thing you should do is to be polite and ask him how he is doing. Do not waste time, though. Remind him that the night you spent with him ended with a pregnancy. That it was not just your suspicion and that it was confirmed by your doctor. Keep talking instead of waiting on him to answer. He will be too shocked to say clever stuff anyways. Tell him that you know he’s got a right to be informed about it. He should also know what your next step is. Ask him whether he would be willing to participate in the matter.

6. The man’s reaction can be quite unexpected. Be ready for several options. He might feel like denying everything. He might want to convince you that you are wrong and that the baby cannot be his. On the other hand, the guy can be quite tolerant and friendly. He might want to accept the fact and then he will express his willingness to assist you. It’s terrible if you see that what you said made him aggressive, angry and mad. Do not try to argue with him then. Just tell him you understand him and that you are ready to meet him some time later.

7. Watch the guy and his reaction. If the man sounds friendly and accepting, then keep on discussing the matter. If you see he would love to escape and never see you again, well, that’s his choice. Let him leave. He might change his opinion regarding this issue. He will either contact you a bit later, when he calms down and weighs everything. Or, if he is an irresponsible person, he’ll never want to be involved in your life. If he contacts you in a few days, he is a mature man who understands how serious it is. If not, then your baby definitely does not need such a dad.
