You will hardly find a dog that is more playful, patient, loving and protective than the Labrador retriever. It is a reliable dog that can get along with their owners and kids. This breed is not only beautiful. It is very intelligent and has a sweet personality. It can be considered to be your perfect pet. On average a Labrador lives between 10 and 12 years. Unfortunately, this breed is very prone to various cell mutations that cause tumors. This may shorten the dog’s life. Besides, Labradors are not advised for small apartments. Only if you can give your dog lots of exercise and quite a spacious home can you keep it in a flat.

6. Golden retriever

The Golden retriever is slightly smaller than the Lab. It is a smart, kind, loyal and confident dog. Its personality is both timid and friendly. The golden retriever is patient with kids and loves to play with them. This breed also needs plenty of exercise and good care. The problem is that the golden retriever has health issues related to cell tumors. The golden retriever may live up to 12 years. What your pet will need is a bigger apartment since this breed does not feel very well in small spaces.
