3. Red foods
Natural products that come in red color are healthy and good for vegans. Apples, strawberries and tomatoes are great. What vegans avoid are red foods that get their red color from red pigments that female cochineal insects produce. See if the list of ingredients contains words like “carmine”, “carminic acid” or”cochineal”.
4. Soy cheese
Soy cheese is believed to be safe for vegans. Unfortunately, some manufacturers add milk protein also knows as casein. This component is not used by vegans and you should always check the label before you purchase soy cheese.
