3. Rinse the blades fully after shaving — at all times
How soon your razor wears down also depends on the soapy shaving products that you apply. Lathering up your skin makes the process easy and the results smoother. Nevertheless, one should remember that most razor blades are covered with a thin coat of Teflon. Soapy products can dissolve the layer, which will weaken the blades and they will start rusting.
4. Hang razors in a cool and dry area
Moisture rusts things that are made of metals. Razors are no exception. If you want your razors to be sharp for long, store them in a cool and dry spot. Also, do not forget to turn the razor – they should be placed so that the blades would be facing up. It will prevent the blades from rusting and decrease the risk infection. We suggest you should always pat the razor dry after shaving. Choose an area outside of the shower and hang your razor up.
5. Protect it while travelling
If you are planning to travel for a longer period of time, you will probably want to take a razor with you. Take good care of your packing up – make sure that your razor will not be exposed to excessive trauma and friction. Fancy razors that have plenty pivots and hinges are even less resistant to bangs and stresses. Purchase a special travel case and store your razors in it. You may also try and warp the razor with a paper towel – this will keep the blades from hitting other hard items.
