In Saudi Arabia people believe that it’s inappropriate for a woman to do the following:
1. Driving a car
There is no restricting law. It’s all in people’s minds. Exceptionally religious families won’t allow their daughters, moms and wives to drive cars. A few years ago a group of Saudi women launched a campaign, encouraging girls to drive. Nowadays in more progressive families women drive their kids to school. They can also use cars to drive to hospitals.
2. Interacting with men
There are some certain restrictions set to the amount of time Saudi women can spend with males that they are not related to. Segregation exists everywhere. There are special areas for women wherever you go: beaches, parks, buses, colleges, banks and other public offices and institutions. A Saudi woman can be charged and punished for ‘illegal’ mixing and breaking the law.
