Archeology has been studying human activity through the recovery of various monuments. Some of the discoveries stun us with their mysterious nature.

1. Voynich Manuscript

Manuscripts tell us a lot about how people lived hundreds of years ago. One of the most enigmatic manuscripts ever found by scientists is voynich manuscript. The document was discovered in the early 1900’s in North Italy. Who wrote the manuscript consisting of more than 200 pages is still not known. What experts know is that the work was written in the fifteenth century. It is said that some of the pages are missing. What researchers are interested in are the drawings of unknown plants found in the manuscript. Besides the section with herbs, the document contains pharmaceutical information and a cosmological section. Also, there’re biological as well as astronomical data.

2. Sacsaywaman

Sacsaywaman is an ancient walled complex. It’s located near Cusco, Peru. The construction of the monument began in 1440. That was the time when the country was ruled by emperor Pachacut. It took people more than a hundred years to finish this structure. The wall is created using of many various types of rocks. There you can see yucay limestone, diorite blocks, and dark andesite. Sacsaywaman is approximately 600 meters long. It is a very interesting structure. Each block of this monument weighs hundreds of tons. Sacsaywaman’s primary purpose was to protect muyu marca. Besides the mentioned archaeological tower there one can see sala marca and paunca marca – another two temples related to the sun and located nearby.
