Did you know that the quality of your rest depends on a few factors? Most of us tend to believe that an extra 20 minutes in bed can help you feel better and stronger. But the truth is different – you wake up tired and exhausted.
There are more important things to bear in mind and how much you sleep is not the most essential part of the whole issue.
1. Stage 1: Non-rapid eye moment
Let us remind you that non-rapid eye moment is a special term specialists use to describe various stages of sleep. The very first stage can be described as floating. That’s when your consciousness is not asleep yet it is not fully awake either. During this stage your muscles may jerk (hypnic myoclonia). Little by little your mind seems to be drifting away.
2. Stage 2: Non-rapid eye moment
The second stage allows the person to enter a lighter form of sleep. We spent 50% of our whole sleep in this phase. During this period your heart slows down and muscles are not tense. Your brain activity decreases.
