This term has nothing to do with biology and biochemistry. Supercells are a kind of strong storms that has the shape of a nuclear mushroom cloud. The difference is that such a storm has a strong updraft that can lift objects up. Storms are categorized into single-cell, multi-cell, squall line and supercell. The latter are the least common but the most fatal when they happen.
